Jacobean Network
The Academic, Scientific and Didactic Resources Database of the Camino de Santiago «Red Jacobea» is a research tool in which to find updated information on living researchers, institutions, academic activities and journals dedicated to the study of the Jacobean world and pilgrimages.
Its main objective is to promote contact, work and acquisition of scientific and didactic resources for researchers, disseminators and teachers with the purpose of facilitating communication between agents who are independently developing Jacobean studies. The aim is to consolidate the creation of a worldwide Jacobean network from which to combine synergies and revitalize studies on the Camino de Santiago, encouraging the organization of academic activities, research projects, congresses and international meetings; promoting scientific publications and dissemination; and improving teaching activities.
«Red Jacobea» aims to be a living and open tool. Therefore, all the actors involved in the Jacobean studies are invited to participate in its smooth running by providing updated data on the information collected, or by requesting the inclusion of new entries through our e-mail: catedra.caminodesantiago@usc.es.
BADAPECO
The Database of Pilgrims who received the Compostela (BADAPECO) is a digital tool for consultation, collaboration and open research, in which you can find updated information on pilgrims from historical times who went to the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela to receive the compostela, that is, the certificate granted by the Church of Santiago de Compostela that certifies having completed the Camino de Santiago.
Based on the records of pilgrims kept in the Cathedral Archives of Santiago (1830-1896), this database has become a fundamental instrument in the international context of Jacobean studies and research centers that aspires to become the cornerstone of a Pilgrims’ Database Network, which will allow the data on Jacobean pilgrims from all over the world to be collected and interrelated.
For this reason, the BADAPECO must function as an efficient way of constantly updating data and collaboration between institutions and researchers of the Camino de Santiago, which is offered to all of them to update and enter in its different fields -or in new ones- any individualized information about pilgrims -included or not in it-, moderna@catedraldesantiago.es or by means of the data modification request form that appears in each entry.
