As a general rule, the updated version of the pilgrim's name should be recorded. When the updated name does not match the spelling of the original document, the spelling of the original document should be transcribed in the "Notes" field. When the reading is doubtful, it is followed by a final question mark in parentheses

Year

The year in which each pilgrim acts as a pilgrim to Compostela will be recorded in Arabic numerals, indicating in brackets the specific action (reception of "compostela", departure to Compostela, arrival in Compostela, death in Compostela,...). When the original document does not indicate the year, but it can be deduced from other sources or indications, it should be placed in square brackets. When the reading is doubtful, it is followed by a final question mark in brackets

Month

It will be recorded using two numerical digits: for example, January would be indicated as "01". When the reading is doubtful, it is followed by a final question mark in parentheses.

Day

It will be recorded using two numerical digits: for example, day 4 would be indicated as "04". When the reading is doubtful, it is followed by a final question mark in parentheses.

Origin

As a general rule, the current toponym of the pilgrim's place of origin will be recorded, indicating in parentheses, if possible and if appropriate, its complete location (for example: "Sergude (San Fiz de Navío, San Amaro, Ourense"). When the original document indicates the type of toponym, it will be recorded in parentheses after it (for example, "Ourense (diocese)" to distinguish it, for example, from "Ourense (city)"). When the original document does not indicate the toponym of provenance, but it can be deduced from other sources or indications, it will be placed in square brackets (e.g., "[Ourense (diocese)]". When the current toponym does not coincide in its spelling with that of the original document, the spelling of the latter is transcribed in the "Notes" field. When the place of origin and the place of residence of a pilgrim is indicated, the latter is considered the place of origin, adding the other in the "Notes" field. When the reading is doubtful, it is followed by a final question mark in parentheses (for example, "Ourense (diocese) (?)")

Country

As a general rule, the current country of provenance should be recorded. When the original document does not indicate the country of provenance, but it can be deduced from other sources or indications, it will be placed in square brackets. When the current country does not coincide in its spelling with that of the original document, the spelling of the latter is transcribed in the "Notes" field. When the reading is doubtful, it is followed by a final question mark in parentheses

The occupation or profession of the pilgrim should be recorded, indicating in "Notes", if applicable, the original form and spelling. When the reading is doubtful, it is followed by a final question mark in parentheses

Relationship

The type of relationship of the pilgrim to one or more other registered pilgrims is recorded: marriage ("Spouse"), filiation ("Son", "Daughter"), paternity ("Father"), maternity ("Mother"), brotherhood ("Brother", "Sister"), other ancestry ("Grandfather", "Grandmother"...), other relationship ("Uncle", "Nephew"...). When the reading is doubtful, it is followed by a final question mark in parentheses

Related Seat

When the relationship with one or more other registered pilgrims is listed, each pilgrim should be identified with his or her corresponding entry number ("Id"). If this number is not known, the necessary data will be written. When the reading is doubtful, it is followed by a final question mark in parentheses

Sources

Documentary and/or bibliographic sources consulted by the author of the description containing the information provided shall be recorded

Notes

Any useful information that is not found in another field will be recorded

Authors Description

The name(s) and surname(s) of the author(s) of the description shall be recorded
